PATERSON, NJ - Members of the Great Falls Rotary Club and Passaic County Board of Realtors were joined at the Military Assistance Pantry on Ward Street on Saturday by members Passaic Valley UNICO to restock the shelves full of food and other goods for collection and use by area veterans.
According to a report by Rotary Club member Debby Flower, Chuck Russo of Passaic Valley UNICO read media reports of the pantry’s opening and offered his club’s assistance through their annual grocery drive.
That drive, the report read, started at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the ShopRite in Little Falls, and was so successful thanks to the generosity of shoppers, that “within an hour” an SUV was filled with donated groceries. Several volunteers from the Great Falls Rotary Club were on hand to unload the groceries and restock the pantry’s shelves.
The Paterson Military Assistance Pantry is open the third Saturday of every month 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
