WAYNE, N.J. -- Realtors helped revitalize a Paterson home for the annual Realtors Care Day, which was held on April 27, 2017. The event was part of a statewide initiative with the New Jersey REALTORS® Housing Opportunity Foundation and was organized by the Passaic County Board of Realtors.
Since its launch, Realtors® Care Day has been a great opportunity for members to donate time and effort to the local community through landscaping and other outdoor projects and repairs. The projects can also involve safety and security adjustments for the elderly and disabled. The event’s mission is to build a positive relationship amongst the community and to renew pride in the hearts of local homeowners.
“‘Many hands lighten the load’ was the key phrase for Realtors Care Day on April 27,” said Debra Flower, a Realtor and one of the volunteers from that day. “Everyone jumped right in and continued throughout the day until the work was done."
“This proved to be a wonderful day of working together and partnering, fellowship, networking and a prime example of beautifying the neighborhood,” Flower added. “Many of the surrounding neighbors were outside working on their properties before we left -- and throughout the following days have really spruced up their properties.”
This year, the group of volunteers helped Sheldon and Taylor Tulip of Paterson. They helped re-landscape the front lawn and the backyard, along with other minor refurbishments. The volunteers were there from early in the morning to the afternoon. Afterwards, they posed for pictures in front of the newly improved house with the homeowners, the Tulips.
Realtors Care Day is amongst the many events that the Passaic County Board of Realtors® holds in order to give back to the community. In June, the Board will be holding a charity golf outing on Friday, June 2nd at the Black Blear Golf Course in Franklin to benefit Oasis, a local non-profit organization that helps women and children in need.
